Random Name Picker

Run a quick draw from names you provide. Unlike a general name generator, this tool cannot invent or fetch people: it picks only from the roster you paste, entirely in your browser.

Draw from your own names, with a no-repeat round history. Your roster stays in your browser.

Practical guide

How to use this generator

Paste one name per line, choose one or several winners, and keep Avoid previous winners on for a no-repeat round. The history below the results shows what has already been drawn. Reset the round to make every entered name eligible again. You can optionally collapse duplicate spellings, or keep extra copies as extra chances.

Ways to use it

  • Select a volunteer or prize recipient from a class or group roster.
  • Draw several presentation turns without choosing the same participant twice.

What the collection contains

Your own pasted names are the entire pool; the site has no hidden roster and does not send names to the server.

Limits to keep in mind

Names on different lines are treated as different tickets unless you remove duplicates. A winner may reappear after you reset the round or turn off no-repeat mode. Do not use an unaudited random draw for decisions requiring a regulated procedure.

Browser-only picker reviewed 2026-11-02; test repeated draws, changed rosters, duplicate rules, shortages and reset after each implementation change.

A sample draw

These example names are illustrative; your pasted names are the only real input.

Roster: Alex, Bailey, Casey, Drew. A draw of two might choose Bailey and Drew. With no-repeat enabled, the next draw can select only Alex and Casey until you reset the round.
